ABOUT ME

Welcome everyone! I am Beatriz. I am a body therapist, as a shiatsu therapist, massagist, dancer, and actress. I am currently studying as a midwife at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, Scotland. Also formed in 'labor and movement' (Preparing for a Gentle Birth) (antenatally) (Nuria Vives), Low-Pressure Fitness (Postpartum recovery) (Piti Pinsach), and Voicecraft techniques. (Helen Rowson)

I have been a  Shiatsu Therapist for over 26 years as well as a professional Dancer for 18 years in many different companies and groups. I developed a passion for anatomy and physiology which led me to change my focus towards disciplines related to health and well-being. Each day it is a pleasure to help people feel a little more comfortable in their bodies, a little more rooted, and with the peace that comes from having time and a sacred space to truly connect with themselves.

In addition to shiatsu, I love working with pregnant women and their partners, each one has its own needs. Today more than ever I realize the importance of accompanying women with respect, listening to them with empathy and intuition through the incredible feat of pregnancy and childbirth. The most important thing for me is to give them clarity and as much information as possible, about the physiological process of childbirth and the latest scientific evidence.  My work is essentially an anatomical bodywork, which cannot be excluded at any time the emotional and mental processes involved in it. Focusing on the release of breathing, yawning, and stretching the body, from body awareness, and the important work of the pelvis during labor. I trust the potential of every woman as well as their wisdom.  I am passionate about creating a relaxing space that generates positive feelings for the birth experience.

Moreover, I had been able to develop from the standard shiatsu I learned (international shiatsu institute 1995-1999), a shiatsu 'in my own way' where I integrate, in addition to the classic moxas, and ventosas, towels, and hot stones; stretches, manipulations, and mobilizations brought from the dance, as well as deep craniosacral techniques and certain touches brought from quiromasaje (Quirotema, 2014). My interest in the muscular chains, 'the blessed diaphragm', coaching, facial reflexology, the touch of aromatherapy, without forgetting the indispensable energetic cuisine (Montse Bradford, 2003).

Focused on all types of people, from 0 to 100 years old: babies, children, adults, the elderly, and pregnant women,  I have learned that each person has its own needs of which require different support. I love what I do, It is my vocation and I continue learning every day.
